It's a simple idea: put nipple stickers everywhere! This inclusive, subversive, light-hearted project fights the oppression of the female body.
What is Exposure Therapy?

Exposure Therapy uses nipple stickers to fight against oppression of women everywhere.

This inclusive, light-hearted and subversive project has already empowered women in over 12 countries, but with your help can go much further.
Together we can create a safer and more equal world for women, one nipple at a time.

I send 10 free stickers to anyone who asks for them. This project is spread through word-of-mouth and instagram @NIPeoPLE

Origin Story

I started this project in 2017 out of frustration with the way my body was being treated in America.

I use the female body in my artwork, in a completely non-sexual way. When I tried to get my work printed, I was often refused service or even at times loudly shamed in front of other customers for submitting “pornography”. When I pressed for a reason for this categorization, I always received the same answer:  “it shows your nipples.”

I find it so troubling that I was being body-shamed when my only offense was being a woman.

The more I thought about it, the more ridiculous the situation seemed. I wanted to find a way to expose the hypocrisy— to fight against the double-standard and empower others to do the same. I also wanted the project to be fun, innocent, and inclusive. What could satisfy these needs better than stickers?

Why Exposure Therapy?

The nipple is a clear illustration of inequality faced by women.

Both men and women have nipples, but only the female nipple is deemed an “erogenous zone” and therefore resolutely sexual. This categorization means that a woman’s exposed nipple is immediately sexualized, regardless of intention or context. This is so pervasive that even women nursing their children receive abuse and shaming.

Exposure Therapy exposes the false narrative that women’s bodies alone are offensive and dangerous. Fueled by fear, stigma, and misinformation, this false narrative tells women that their bodies are sex itself—provocative, disorderly, and obscene. This mischaracterization results in a world that us unsafe and unequal for women.

Financial Breakdown

I send stickers to anyone who asks for them— I take in no payment, so all costs have been out-of-pocket for me.

I am passionate and excited about the future for this project, and have ideas for advancements that are out of my monetary range.

With your help, I can continue to devote my energy to Exposure Therapy and fight for women everywhere.

The $2,000 I am hoping to raise will go to the following costs, and will allow this project to excel over the next year!

These are my current costs:

Printing Stickers: $180/1000 stickers

Printing Manifestos: $0.10/page

Cute pink envelopes: $0.15/envelope

Stamps: $1.50/international stamp (from Spain, where I live)

At the moment, I send out an average of 80 stickers/8 mailers a week : $113.60/month

Currently I work on Exposure Therapy for 18hr/week

I would love to continue to work this hard, or even harder!

What I need to continue the project:

Website: $96/year

Travel to events and marches: $500/year

Creating a printing a zine//stickerbook: $10/book

Sending zine//stickerbook: $3.00/mailer
