The Revolutionary Women's March 2017

By: backHer

The historic Women’s March of January 21, 2017 brought together millions of people from diverse backgrounds to demonstrate that Women’s Rights are Human Rights, and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. This revolutionary march made an influential statement that all people, of every race, color, religion, nation, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, etc., deserve to be safe and have equal rights and freedom.

Especially prominent was the call for the immediate need to help ensure the well being of refugees and indigenous peoples who are currently being targeted in the new political administration of the United States. The amount of people who came together to march was more than anyone could have ever imagined.  People from every single continent marched to ensure that all people  will be treated as equals, with respect and dignity.

It’s Not Over-Steps Moving Forward

Just because the Women’s March already took place does not mean that it’s over. Everyone is encouraged to move forward and gather in their neighborhoods all across the world to define what to do next.

We were at the Women’s March in San Francisco, and backHer will continue to support and promote women-led endeavors, contribute to women and children rising in poverty, and to do what we can to ensure that all beings are afforded compassion and respect.
